Answered Prayers and Following the Spirit

Steve came home from Chapman Dodge a couple of weeks ago and had another inspiring story to tell. He called us all together and shared with us what had happened. First to give a little background on what has been going on the last few weeks. About a month ago Steve's boss, Jesse, came to Steve and said that he was moving to another dealership with some of the other guys from the department and wanted Steve to go with him. Steve told him that he would have to think about it. Steve prayed about what to do and had the definite feeling that he should just stay where he was. Jesse was angry with him and put a lot of pressure on him to change his mind. In discussing it at home I suggested to Steve that he just tell Jesse that he prayed about it. The next day he did and Jesse got mad and told Steve, "You need to have some faith in me, and trust me." Well, that clinched it for Steve. There was no way he was going to trust Jesse over the Holy Ghost. Within two weeks, Jesse and four others from Integrity left and went to United Dodge. On Tuesday of the next week (April 28th) one of Steve's bosses came in to the parts dept and told them that their dealership was in trouble and was going to close down within a couple of weeks. Steve was stressed out about finding a new job and picked up the phone and called Chapman Dodge where he used to work when we first moved to Las Vegas. The parts manager there told Steve that he had a "high interest" in Steve. The manager at Towbin Dodge also called Steve to offer him a job. What a blessing to have two job offers in this poor economy when so many are out of work. While I was at Women's Conference Steve quit his job at Integrity on Thursday and by Wednesday, May 6th he was working at Chapmans. We just felt so grateful that he had a job. Now on to what happened that day.
When he came home he had us sit down and told us that Chrysler Corporation was closing 789 dealerships nationwide. Here in Las Vegas, four dealerships received news that they were closing. One being Integrity, which we already knew about but one of the other dealerships that is closing was United Dodge where Jesse and all Steve's former co-workers had gone.
Wow! The Lord has once again blessed us. We read scriptures together in Mosiah where it says that the Lord will prosper His people when they keep the commandments. We have seen this at work in our lives through all of this job turmoil. We all just feel so grateful right now. If Steve had gone with Jesse then he would be out of a job right now. Only 3 of 8 dealerships are still standing in Las Vegas. A year ago that would have been unimaginable. Now his job and commissions are even more protected than before because the 3 dealerships left are going to pick up the business from the ones that closed. We are so happy and grateful for these wonderful blessings.
